1d and Doctor who?

Well i never saw this one coming!

THe 23rd of november as most of us know is the 50th anniversary of Doctor who, but now it is also the anniversary of 1d, but 1d didn't start on the 23rd of november? So many who fans are asking why 1d have chosen that date.

This is how I found out, on facebook I was reading posts when i read one by the doctor who hub and they had posted this:

My opinion on One Direction appearing at the Doctor Who aftershow party on BBC Three:

This seems to have caused some very deep, and almost ugly responses from some of the Whovian fandom, already annoyed at 1D claiming 23rd 1D Day, despite it being the 50th of Doctor Who. Well, upon reading some of the replies to this, I have to be honest, I am shocked, I do not understand why 2 fandoms cannot only co-exist, but also get on. What's the deal? They are sharing the same day as us to celebrate something they love, quite alot of 1D fans are also fans of Doctor Who, and did you know? Some of 1D themselves are fans of the show too? We might all have individual tastes, we have different opinions and fandoms, we might love and hate many things, but we don't have the right to be ugly and arrogant about 1D's appearance on the aftershow. Let's not get all too worked up about this, let's just enjoy the celebrations and the Special and if 1D are appearing on the aftershow to help Matt Smith and Co celebrate, then fine, thankyou 1D, that's very nice of you! Don't let us be that one fandom who can't co exist with another, The Doctor wouldn't allow hate, should we?

What are your thoughts on this?
